This is a photo journal
of our June 2007 trip to South East Asia. The purpose was to visit our "Goji
Garden" and arrange new contracts for raw ingredients and finished products. It
was an eye-opening trip as we learned a lot of new data on goji and the real
truth about a lot of goji misinformation. California Academy of Health has sold
goji products for over five years now and is one of the top goji suppliers in
the nation. We hope you enjoy the information and pictures - it was quite an
adventure.
An early morning view of the skyline, it was
the only day we saw blue sky.
A twilight view of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
Jin Mao Tower - Built in 1998, it's the tallest building in China and
currently the fourth tallest in the world. We ate dinner on the
54th floor and had a night cap on the 87th.
Waiting to be taken to our plane - it can be seen just above Kelly's
right shoulder. On this leg of the trip we will be traveling to
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and
Gansu Province - Going for the
goji. Three
interesting facts below:
In Mongolian, the region is known as öbör monggol
where öbör can mean south, inner, front, bosom, or breast.
Genghis Khan conquered Yinchuan, Ningxia in the early
thirteenth century.
In prehistoric times, Gansu was host to a number of
Neolithic cultures. The Dadiwan culture, from where numerous
archaeologically significant artifacts have been excavated, flourished
in the eastern end of Gansu from about 6000 BC to about 3000 BC
