What is Maqui Berry?

Maqui is a richly dark purple berry from the distant Patagonia region, that encompasses southern Chile and Argentina, which remains one of the most untouched places on this planet.  Maqui berries has been traditionally used by the Mapachus Indian for a variety of ailments such as sore throat, diarrhea, ulcers, hemorrhoids, birth delivery, fever, tumors and other ailments. The Maqui berries have rich dark purple color that is a result given by its extraordinary concentration of anthocyanins.  Maqui berries contain high content of phenolic compounds and anthocyanins that exhibits high antioxidant activity.  The Maqui Berry has been found to contain high levels of antioxidant properties.  In fact it tops all others!

Antioxidants are substances found in the fruits and vegetables we eat everyday.  They in fact vary in every fruit and vegetable so that an ORAC scale was established to measure the quantity of antioxidant each fruit has.
