Pure Hoodia
delivers the unmatched appetite suppressing power of
100% pure Hoodia gordonii, with nothing removed except water. Hoodia was
originally consumed as food by indigenous tribes to help endure long excursions
in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. This legally harvested and CITES
certified*South African Hoodia benefits the environment and the San (bushmen)
tribes.**
"We only use the most bioactive
components of the plant, the aerial parts. Research studies currently being
conducted utilize the aerial parts because they contain the highest concentration
of the active appetite suppressing glycosides." Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc. To
illustrate my point here is a current research paper comparing a know
pharmaceutical appetite suppressing medication against the Hoodia glycosides.
The glycosides won!

Studies conducted at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR,
South Africa) identified extracts from Hoodia species, in particular Hoodia
pilifera and Hoodia gordonii, as possessing appetite suppressing properties. Two
pregnane glycosides were isolated by fractionation of the dried stems of H.
gordonii. Their structures were determined as (removed as irrelevant to the
point being made - Dr. E) on the basis of spectroscopic studies and
conversion to known compounds. Compounds 1 and 2 were also isolated from H.
pilifera. Compound 1 was tested for its appetite suppressant properties in rats
by oral gavage at 6.25-50mg/kg and the results showed that all doses resulted in
a decrease of food consumption over an eight day period and a body mass decrease
when compared to the control sample receiving only the vehicle. In a comparative
study against a fenfluramine control sample, compound 1 resulted in a reduction
in food intake over the study period, with a concomitant overall decrease in
body weight while fenfluramine resulted in a small decrease in food intake, but
an increase in body weight (though less than control group) over the same period
of time.
Explanation in plain English:
"Fenfluramine is the drug
that was part of the banned "Fen-Phen" anti-obesity medication combo (the other
drug being phentermine). Fenfluramine is also known as Pondimin.
Fenfluramine was withdrawn from the U.S. market in 1997 after reports of heart
valve disease and pulmonary hypertension, including a condition known as cardiac
fibrosis.
All doses of Hoodia active
glycoside (P57) reduced subjects appetite MORE over the eight day study than did
fenfluramine. The most interesting finding is that the Hoodia glycosides created
an environment where the test subjects decreased their body weight, exactly what
consumers of a weight loss product want. The tests subjects that received the
fenfluramine actually gained weight, not the desired result.
In my opinion Hoodia is a
promising new adjunct to any weight loss program. Data is coming in monthly validating this
point and I look forward to one day getting a high potency, standardized version of this
herbal supplement." Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc 10/2/07
Question: How
does Hoodia work?
Answer:
There is a chemical, known as P57, within the herb Hoodia
that acts as a potent appetite suppressant. This natural chemical called P57
glycoside sends a false message to an area of the brain called the hypothalamus.
The hypothalamus receiving this message now believes that we have enough fuel
(food) even
though we are not full. Because the brain is satisfied, less food is consumed thus
less calories are consumed. Combined with regular exercise, weight loss is bound to be
the end result.
Question: How many CAOH® Pure
Hoodia capsules do I take?
Answer:
The recommended dosage is 2-3 capsules per day, one
capsule 30 minutes before each meal with an 8 ounce glass of water.
We are all different. If you do not have a problem with a certain meal of the
day, let’s say breakfast, than just take Pure Hoodia at lunch and dinner. If you
find one meal-time during the day is especially difficult due to cravings, than
eat 1 stick of celery when you take your Pure Hoodia. The added fiber also
creates a sense of fullness making it easier to cope with the cravings.
Question: What weight loss
tips do you give your patients?
Answer:
Eat breakfast!!! Make a protein shake with some strawberries, blueberries and
water or have an egg, some veggies with lean ham.
Eat six-eight small meals a day. This can be as little as 3 ounces of white meat chicken
or tuna
and a celery stick (veggies). Yea, I know it's boring but it sure beats having a heart attack.
Drink an eight ounce glass of water every 2 hours, starting when you get-up in
the morning. If you get-up at 7:00am it would look like this: 7, 9, 11, 1, 3, 5,
7, 9. If you like to drink more than go for it, but spread it out.
Do not eat any form of simple carbohydrate for breakfast or lunch, and keep it
to a minimum at dinner too. Examples are: bread, rice, pasta, bagel, fries, jelly, sugar, potato,
corn….
Burn more calories than you eat. This is a simple point but the vast majority of us
aren't
doing it? Before work, at lunch, and after dinner go for a 15 minute walk, it’s
just 45 minutes a day and it could potentially save your life. At least it will
increase your circulation and make you feel more alive!
Add more fiber to your diet. Celery, green leafy vegetables, apples, and psyllium husk
(taken with water or added to a shake) are great examples of foods that
will help you feel full and aid in weight loss.
Lifting weights will increase the
density of your muscles and burn calories. Fat doesn't need to burn calories to
survive but muscle does. So the more muscle you have the more calories per day
you will burn. Body builders have to consume as much as 8,000 or more calories
per day just to maintain their muscle mass. The average person only needs 1,200
but consumes over 2,000; these 800 additional unburned calories turn to fat.

*Convention
on International Trade
in Endangered Species
of wild fauna and flora is an international
agreement between governments, drafted as a result of a resolution adopted in
1963 at a meeting of members of the World Conservation Union (IUCN). Its aim is
to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does
not threaten their survival and it accords varying degrees of protection to more
than 33,000 species of animals and plants. It is illegal to export Hoodia
gordonii from South Africa without a license and a CITES Certification. We
purchase only from licensed growers and exporters that have full certification.
**The San (or Bushmen) were the
original inhabitants of South Africa, appearing there about 30 000 years ago,
but were displaced westward from the lush mountains in the east toward the dryer
Kalahari desert by the more powerful Zulu and Xhosa tribes who came from the
north. Only a few scattered bands remain. Together with the Khoikhoi they form
the Khoisan group. For more information please go to this informative site -
